Built in 1788, the museum is named for Thomas A. Hays, a prominent lawyer, landowner, and entrepreneur who purchased the house in 1811. Built in 1898 by a prominent Johns Hopkins physician, Liriodendron Mansion is a palladian style building housing three large reception rooms, complete with antique furnishings, as well as a carved staircase and a dozen unique fireplaces. Outside guests can enjoy two sheltered oval porticos, a terrace with wisteria covered archways and a boxwood garden. The most extensive collection of combat vehicles, artillery, small arms, ammunition, and military material in existance. On display are such varied items as body armour, uniforms, weapons that made military history: Gatling gun, a German v-2 rocket, and General Pershings Locomobile. “Tank Park” features armored vehicles ranging from World War 1 to Operation Desert Storm. Open daily from 9am-4:45pm. Note: Due to heightened security all adult visitors must arrive via Rt. 40 to exit 715. A photo ID registration must be presented at the entrance gate. Located on Otter Point Creek, this 600+ acre portion of the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve was developed for research, technical workshops and confernences, cultural history presentations and seminars. Gunpowder Falls State Park features numerous scenic areas on 18,000 acres in the Gunpowder River Valley, which includes both Baltimore & Harford Counties. The park features over 100 miles of trails, trout streams and the historic village of Jerusalem and 18 century grist mill company town. Other park areas include a multi-use rail trail, swimming beach, picnic area, and marina. Guided trips with local outfitters are available for flatwater and moving water kayaking, canoeing, fly-fishing, for trout, bass fishing, catamaran sailing, windsurfing and natural history walks.

This day-use park is located on MD 24, eight miles north of Bel Air, and is situated on 850 acres bordering Deer Creek. A popular feature of the park is the throne-like rock formation called the King and Queen Seats where, according to legend, Indian Chieftains once sat in tribal council. Rock climbing, picnicking, hiking, tubing, wading canoeing, fishing, seasonal bow hunting, photography opportunities are available. The Falling Branch area of Rocks State Park is located about 5 miles north of the main park of the park off MD 24. The scenic,17 foot free-falling waterfall is the second highest vertical falls in Maryland
